"Birds along the #HS2 route are starting to nest.
Here's what contractors should and should not be doing during the nesting season. Read our practical guide to wild birds and the law and how to report a wildlife crime."

Crimes only have consequences for the perpetrators if they are reported to the police. Birds cannot report for themselves, so vigilant people are the only protection birds have against unchallenged criminal violence: please keep a watchful eye and take the time to report and record evidence of any potential crimes that you encounter. The beginner-friendly guides published by the RSPB cover everything you need to know to do this even if this law is completely new to you.
